December 28th.
I’m wondering how long it will be til everything isn’t my fault. Because it really seems like that’s the default stance of everyone I know.

I didn’t think it was possible to feel like a third wheel when there’s only two people involved, but I’ll be damned if I haven’t apparently discovered that magic spot. So there’s that.
December 25th.
All I really wanted for Christmas was for her to crawl into bed and fall asleep next to me. No touching or naughty things necessary, just sleep. We don’t always get what we want. So that’s a thing. I guess I’ll make do with the Batman bento box & chopsticks.
Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol is the best of the Christmas specials.
I mean, yes, Astrid is the best of the Christmas companions, and The Christmas Invasion has David Tennant quoting The Lion King, but seriously. Matt Smith & Steven Moffat win.

I’ve been writing more and more “private” posts on here lately. It’s more convenient than my notebook, and less likely to be lost in the shuffle of half-conceived song ideas, lists of song titles, and rap lyrics turned into checklists.

She wasn’t wearing her ring. The one I gave her. The engagement ring that I gave her when I proposed and she said yes.
I’m not sure what that means.
I mean, it was an awkward evening, to be certain. At first, anyway. I suppose I relaxed a bit after a while and stopped feeling so self-conscious, but it did seem like she was weird and distant. I guess it could’ve been the jet lag...

Is Earth 2 a reference to the film “Another Earth”?

Community reference! (I hope…)
Not specifically to either, more to the general idea of parallel universes. Song’s about a guy jumping universes trying to fix his mistakes and continually ruining it.

Greetings From Earth-2
So I guess this is what it’s like for one without the other. Two steps forward, one step back, just like a brother. We both know the way, we’re both the same, we both share the blame for what’s happened. So cross your fingers, it’s now or it’s never.
So I cross the line across the void and hope that I can change your mind, change your mind. It’s not that easy,...

December 22nd.
So once again, I feel like everything is just entirely too much for me. Kati is somewhat distant, despite actually being physically closer than she’s been in 5 months. There’s a lot of issues around the holiday which are apparently being solved by me giving in to whatever she wants despite the headache and actual issues that surround it, like us being late for my dad’s for...
I still wake up every day expecting the world to be ending, either literally or metaphorically. You think I’d have moved beyond that by now.

theswordthestreets asked: love the community/glee pic :) very funny. Also nice to see some more immigrant song love on here. I just wrote a post about the tune, feel free to check it out, if you're so inclined. I think you'll like it :) and keep blogging!

Best of 2011 mix →
This came together fairly quickly, in that a week ago I only had 6 tracks on it, and the rest of it sort of just happened. Rest assured, I enjoy the dick out of all these songs, and my top 10 albums of the year are all represented on here. Please to be enjoying.

I just realized I posted that “passover otter” thing I wrote, right before Hanukkah. Because apparently they’re the same thing in my head?

The Passover Otter.
Here then, children, is the story of Sheckie, the Passover Otter. *
Sheckie the otter was a happy fellow, but he had no need for his Jewish heritage. He spent all his time swimming, eating fish, and doing elaborate cross-stitch patterns for art supply stores. His parents, especially his mother Ethel, implored him to give all this time to the Torah and remember Elijah, but Sheckie was like,...

I kind of want to get an SNES emulator and gamepad for my Mac solely so I can play Link to the Past, Super Metroid, and Final Fantasy 3 (VI). Weird?

My 1000th post
So I’ve hit a thousand posts here. Not entirely surprising, though if I’d kept up the “My Year In Movies” thing, I’d probably have hit a lot sooner. But c’est la vie, que sera sera, other foreign phrases. I’ve tried to not forget about this, as I like writing random things, and I feel like not writing would probably bother me more than writing terrible...

So my social worker at the hospital I go to for my cystic fibrosis appointments asked me how I was doing. She’d heard I wasn’t going to Japan, and was curious why. I did my best to explain the situation frankly, without seeming bitter or angry or depressed (as I am not [at least 2 out of 3]), because there is a tendency for people to let external forces effect their health (as HAS...

The future is there looking back at us. Trying to make sense of the fiction we will have become. And from where they are, the past behind us will look nothing at all like the past we imagine behind us now.
